John 6:65 Jesus says "No one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him."
Do you really think people would rather burn in hell? Or even ignore Pascal's wager? Even with the slightest of doubt, you would be a fool not to.
However, the Bible clearly says they cannot until G-d enables them.
Therefore, you may offer it, and if G-d has enabled them, they will come. But YOU as a person really have no power over this matter.
Just so you know I am a born again Christian, quickly becoming Messianic Jew and have probably evangelized more than most. Even in public, we used to pull people over in shopping malls and lead them to the L-rd. These people must have been ready. Because scripture is never wrong. Next time someone reject the chance of saying yes to Jesus, dont be so offended!
Thoughts? Agree? Disagree? I'm open to all opinions.
David

Wow Dorky, thats like temper tantrum. Would you explain how I have turned this scripture around instead of just crying and running? I'd like to hear how, but you offered no reasoning.
If you are right, I will admit it. But when you offer nothing but emotional outbursts, nothing is gained.

well where to start lets see book of John not written by diciple John actually first known documents at least 300 AD , kinda makes one wonder. also note the use of the farther not my farther what does this indicate either he was not referring to God or God is not his farther , If one knows God or is at one with God why is Jesus a necessity other then to lead people to God if this has already happened what role does Jesus play and out of curiosity why don't you use the entire words I know the Jews will utter the name but this is based aroound an old Egyptian practices that indicated if you knew a persons spritual name you could control them The jewish do not use the word as they believe the man who could utter it correctly would control god and the world would end , I know i haven't really given a good answer but just siome thoughts that popped into my head when i read your statement/question

You are absolutely right, and I have thought this for a long time. All Jesus told us to do was tell the good news. God will bring the increase, if there is going to be one.
I was brought up to believe that if anyone went to Hell in spite of my best efforts, their blood was on my hands. Pretty heavy duty stuff for a kid. But imagine my joy and amazement to find out what you are saying.
Our teachers meant well, but some were so misinformed. That is why I enjoy studying the word of God myself now.

Dear David. My thought on this passage are simply that man of his own volition would not seek the things of God because of his sinful nature that he inherited. The Holy Spirit is the one who convicts men and Leeds them to Jesus and this is why Jesus said that no one comes to him unless the Father in heaven draw him and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out (reject) The Lord wants all men everywhere to be saved as "he is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" The Bible is clear on this issue as the Lord holds all men accountable and if they choose to reject Gods' free gift of a pardon and eternal life through jesus Christ then they do so by their own choice. Keep praying for "all men everywhere" God Bless you!

Are you implying that I have no freedom of will? That I cannot use my own experience and my own logical mind and my own heart and soul to find my own path back to God?
Are you implying that I could just give up the entire concept of living and learning....because I am not yet enabled??
Wow! I hadn't considered that.

EVEN A CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND SCRIPTURE.
A PERSON CANNOT CHOSE THE MOMENT OF THEIR SALVATION.
ONE KNOWS THE HOLY SPIRIT INTERCEDES.
John 6:65
Therefore said I, etc.--that is, "That was why I spoke to you of the necessity of divine teaching which some of you are strangers to."
except it were given him--plainly showing that by the Father's "drawing" (John 6:44) was meant an internal and efficacious operation, for in recalling the statement here He says, it must be "given to a man to come" to Christ.
EVEN IN EXODUS: GOD SAID- MY SPIRIT DOES NOT ALWAYS STRIVE WITH MAN.
ONE MUST COME AT THE INVITATION.. WHEN THE HEART IS PRICKED..
EVEN A CHILD KNOWS.

Well I don't know you, but the claim that you have "evangelized more than most" sounds a bit arrogant. I have given sermons at my church and I don't keep any tally of how many people I impact.

yes i agree with that, partially. if a person wanted to believe in Jesus he can, but to whom ever it's not open too, they will never understand or will never want to understand, if thier eyes are closed. it's like explaining what some color looks like if they have been blind since their birth.

No, they don't choose your god because they're rational and sensible and logical thinkers. Most are well educated intellectuals and know that all sacred books are full of mythology. They're the reasons actually.

Maybe they DON'T want to become Christian. Or is that concept WAY BEYOND YOUR PATHETIC INCAPACITY TO REASON?
Pascal's Wager is false false false, and no amount of discussing it will make it valid. Just let.
People.
Be. If you evangelized to me and then told me that your God just hadn't "enabled me" yet, I would probably punch you in the mouth because your God has no ability to influence me. That right rests with my gods.
