omg i just lost like over $100 at the casino today, and i'm so mad! i could've done some important stuff with that cash, but instead my dumb *** decided to gamble. maybe i'm just an unlucky person, because whenever i DO win (which is seldom) i win about $5 or $10 or $20, and nothing more. I guess that's how hotel casinos get so nice and pretty, b/c so many idiots feed the slots until they're broke like me. ARRGHHHHHHHHHH i'm so pissed......

And there's no such thing as a strategy when it comes to slots. It's all "random," in other words, the odds are favouring the house.

I'm not gonna tell you not to gamble like some of the other preachy people here, but I will tell you to gamble smarter. Along with Keno, Slot machines have some of the worst odds in the casino (30-40% win rate usually). My advice to you is to stop playing slots, period. There's no money in it.

Instead, take up a game of skill. A game where your actions have some bearing on the outcome as opposed to sitting there and pushing the same button over and over. Learn blackjack, video poker or Texas Hold Em Poker and you will walk away a winner more often because all of those games actually reward skilled players. Slots are just luck.

That's my 2 cents. (Although I am now tempted to play a couple 3 reel slots just to test out that casino managers system.)

You didn't specify what type of machine you play. Video poker, video screen, or 3 reel slots. If you play the 3 reel slots here's a tip. If you look inside the machine to the right of the 3rd reel you'll see 3 counters. The top counter is Coin In, the middle counter is Coin Out, and the bottom counter is Drop. As a rule of thumb if the Coin In counter is lower than the Coin Out counter the machine has paid out more than it has taken in. There are exceptions however. This only applies to coins not cash and the counters may have rolled over and started anew.
Aside from this, look for the newest banks of machines. Casinos set the newest machines up to pay out the most often in order to get customers to start playing at the new banks of slot machines. Once the machines have caught on with people they are reduced in efficiency.
Don't be fooled by signs claiming 99% payback or similar. This is over the life of the machine and not 99% of what you put in you'll get back. That's tricky and misleading advertising that casinos do.
The video poker machines have your best bet of winning because the player has options of what cards to hold.
There are more methods of course but this is as detailed as I can get to point you to a winning machine without putting you in jeopardy of being accused of cheating!

There are no real strategies for slots...only the people (Casinos) who own them and do numerical statistical analysis to ensure your odds of winning are extremely low. You'd have better odds at poker where at least some strategy is involved..Slots are simply a way to pass time and rely on blind luck . Stop paying for the hotel's pretty decor, and save your money for things you need. Write off the money you lost as a big lesson about gambling and cut back on any unnecessary purchases so you have money for whatever you need it for.
Unless you intend to buy drugs or fly to Vegas, then I suggest taking that money and investing it, and checking yourself in to an addictions counselling centre.
