Ok there is this guy I been talking to, but it seems like he dosen't know what he wants. See every body in my family knows him, and he thinks if me and him start a realtionship and something happens between the two of us he thinks not only he's going to lose me but he's also going to lose the bond he has with my family. I told him that wont happen. Now he's saying he loves me and he wants me, but he can't be with me. Now evrytime I spend time with him I'm liking him more and more and I don't know what to do. HELP

I think you're right about him not knowing what he wants. Give him some time.

Why not be up front with your family from the start ? Sit down with them and the two of you tell them of your feelings for each other, also tell them of his concerns, that way you all get it straightened out before a problem even exists. Then go ahead and explore the possibilities without those what ifs between you. Good luck, I wish you both happiness.

lol I like that answer the other person said but um honestly what do you think if you all were to get together and break up wouldn't you feel kind of wierd having him still around? yeah it would be but actually why are you all thinking about getting together just to also think you all are going to break up i think before you hop into this you should think it through really well the pros and the cons not just one or the other but um you should talk to him because honestly I am sorta going to the same thing but not exactly but talk to your heart see what you want to do are you ready to open a door that you can't close

If he wants you he will pursue you. Start dating others and let the ball be in his court. If he is part of your family then he shouldn't worry about losing the relationship with them, the relationship could enrich the feelings between everyone. Especially if they think he's a good guy.

Dear Girl In Love
I am actually in love too with a guy that is playing hard to get...
Stop calling him, stop emailing him, stop any contact with him. Indifference is the cure. He obviously does not want what he wants and you are in lot of pain right now. That's not fair. Be "dead" for a week and see how he responds to that. It's the icy cold shower treatment but it works....Be strong.

Tell him if he really loved you he wouldn't think about what could happen if yall broke up he needs to just think about going out with you and making every minute last. If he loves you that much he would do anything to make a breakup not happen!

Hope I helped!

Tell him to make a choice. He can't keep doing this to you make him tell you whats it going to be. Reassure him that you will do everything in your power to keep the bond w/ ur family and him strong even if you guys don't work out. But don't keep putting yourself through this torture!

Well chic I hate to tell you this but usualy when guys use the line" I love you but I can't be with you " It only means that they found som 1 else.I feel that he doesn't want to loose that bond with your family so he doesn't want to break up with you.Forget about him.

Sometimes people think too much and instead of taking a chance and living life. If you care, you will challenge the issue - evaluate it, confront it, build it up, or shut it down - simple.

IT is up to u to choose if you date him and u guys break up there is know way your family will still like him. But if it works out then your family will be happy to see u dating him if they already like him.

I would say he is very responsible. Instead of seeing this as, he wont go out with you cos of your family, take it as, he wont go out with you cos he values your friendship and your families friendship, this is a good thing!!!! Wouldnt you rather have him as a friend than not at all!!!?
