Hi we rec a letter from El gordo Loteria Primitiva that would like us to claim our winnings, i think this is a scam they want 10% of the winnings returned to the claims agent after deposit. They provided all a name and phone numbers to Santa Lucia security company S.A. They provided the drawing date of Nov 07 2006 and listed winning numbers as 13-15-16-21-34-36 and stated that the amount was 10,468,770.00 to be sharded with 17 winners. Is there any way to check this out to be sure if it is a scam or not. Sounds too good. Thanks for your help.

The applicable rule here is that, "If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is."
Haven't you wondered how you won a lottery that you never entered?
It's a scam. After you give them back a portion of the money, the check bounces.
They likely get your account number and you get a whole bunch of trouble.

trust me this is a scam. do you remember entering this "lottery?' have you ever even heard of them, cause i sure haven't. the same thing happened to me a few months ago. they said that i won $65,0000 in some "drawing' that i didn't even remember entering, and they were in Nova Scotia Canada! they even sent me a check for $3000 and told me to deposit it into my bank account, ensuring me that this was to help me pay the 10 percent "insurance fees" so that meant that i needed to pay them $6,500 before i got my "winnings" heh. i was really naive, and i was about to cash it, but my smart mother told me to investigate it first. i didn't have a clue that this is a scam going on so people can cheat you out of money. if you win something, you NEVER have to pay anything to get it, because you're automatically entitled to it. like you know those little pop-ups on the computer that say "CLICK HERE TO CLAIM YOUR FREE LAPTOP!" and then you click on them, and they ask you a bunch of dumb *** survey questions until they finally let you know that you've got to buy something in order to recieve your not-so-free laptop. The only difference with them is that at least you actually get something out of the deal. trust me, don't be stupid, I GUARANTEE YOU THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!! if you want to know how i know, take it to a bank and let them see the letter. that's what i did, and i'm so glad that i did it! also, if i were you, i'd give it to the police and let them keep the letter for investigation to catch those bastards who try to steal from people every day. I know you're probably excited. I was too, until I found out the truth. Don't be stupid. Throw the letter away, and play superlotto or something. At least they're a legitimate company.
