This really depends on the complexity of your return. If you go to a place like H & R Block, I would recommend choosing the service where you have to wait 8-15 days, give or take a day. They charge a fee for the money to be paid into their account, then they deduct their fees and send the balance to your bank account electronically. It is a whole lot cheaper than taking a Rapid Refund loan and getting money either stright away or in 1 or 2 days.

If you think you can do your return yourself, someone mentioned taxactonline.com. I use that service myself. However, it is not free to everybody. When you are ready to file, go to irs.gov and click on the freefile icon. That will take you to a list of companies who offer free filing for certain types of taxpayer. In past years they have had a useful facility where you answer some basic questions and it will identify the services you can use for free. Be careful though, some will file federal for free but will charge for state. Again, the quickest way to get your refund is by direct deposit into your checking account.

You can go to a tax preparation office and have it filed electonically and get a superfast refund, but you will pay.
Not only for the tax prep, but also, the bank charges a lot of money for the "loan" which is what a superfast refund is.
The best way is to go online (ex. TaxActOnline.com) and file.
It is very easy, just read the questions and answer them. Then, have your refund direct deposited into a checking or savings account. Should only take a week and it is free!

I'm not sure if they do it in America, but when I was working in Canada, I took my tax forms to Moneymart and they gave me a ruturn in like 4 hours. I think what they do is basically buy the rights to your tax return... you won't get your full entitlement, because Moneymart charges a fee for lodging on your behalf, but you'll get your money in the same day.
