Some Jews are atheists, and some are agnostics, even some of those who observe certain religious observances and ceremonies. It's just a matter of preserving some semblance of tradition.

Most religious Jews in the US are not Orthodox, so they're nothing like fundamentalist Christians. And Jews in general, including Orthodox, believe that their religious beliefs and customs apply only to Jews. They do not seek to convert others, and they don't have any desire to make others follow the rules of their religion.

For Jews, religion seems to be a more personal matter and not something that they are interested in foisting on others. Unlike Muslims and unlike fundamentalist Christians.

David, I care for Christians and I care for Jews. Just because somebody is an atheist or an agnostic, doesn't mean that they do not care about and respect people who are religious. I think there are some pretty obnoxious people on this site. I don't judge by them. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Well Jews don't seem to be telling anybody what to believe. Proselytizing is contrary to Jewish tradition. Jews don't say "You'll go to Hell if you're not a Jew." In fact, many Jews are more interested in the ethical & cultural aspects of Judaism as opposed to the religious dogma.

Well the main problem I have with Christianity is the belief that people who don't believe in Christianity will burn in hell eternally, Jews don't believe that, and don't preach I should believe what they believe. This is something I really like in Judaism.

I'm an Atheist/Agnostic and was raised a Jew. I like Jews, I like Christians, I like anybody who is reasonable and nice and kind and trying to lead a good life.

I don't like ANYBODY who throws their religion around and tells me I'm going to hell.

Err...I don't care for most Christians
Only the ones that try to convert me. In my rating Jewish people are better than Christians because they're less annoying and more tolerant.

I have the utmost respect for the Jewish faith.

They seem to be a positive based religion and easy enough to get along with.

Most importantly, however, I've never met a jew who told me I was going to hell, or who tried to shove his or her religion down my throat.

Way to bloody stereotype. I bloody don't give a rat's *** about any religion. I'm an Agnostic, and I live my life, and allow others to live theirs unhindered with their religious choice. I cannot control what you think, nor can you control what I think. So please, before you jump the gun on stereotyping, think for a moment.

Well, they are part of a religion, just like Christianity. Of course, they don't try and tell me I'm going to Hell, so I generally like them more.
