That shouldn't have any effect on your batter, that light is drawing such little power, the only way it will effect your trucks batter is if you never drove the truck or started it or anything for like a year, but hell that would happen with or without that light.

Theoretical answer is no..

It shouldn't make any difference, but as advised by another poster "Take it back and have the power wired through the ignition source" for peace of mind..

Problem is my mother had a Goodmans stereo installed in her car some years back, which also had a pilot light, it drained the battery, we assumed a duff battery in the certain knowledge that it couldn't possibly be the small LED.. After replacing the battery, it happened again.. we took it to Halfrauds to be inspected (as they had fitted the stereo) Turned out it was indeed the stereo that had drained it.

They replaced the stereo with a Sony unit, and the battery never had an issue since.

No it should not effect your battery in any way. The reason being is because it is a very small L.E.D light which uses less energy in a year then a cd player being on for 10 mins.

In other words you can leave your truck sitting there for a whole year with that small little light on and it will not effect your battery in any way!

No because that little red light on you head unit draws its own power from the head unit as you start the vehicle and drive it or play the CD player its charges a little YC box which runs of your battery only when your vehicle is started..

As others have said, no, it shouldn't effect your battery at all. My car used to have one that did that and I never came out to a dead battery because of it.

YES YES anything that stays on will drain your battery -- if you want to correct this put the power on the accessory side of the ignition switch in the fuse block --- if the stereo was installed by the local stereo "dude" ask him to reconnect to the off side of the car ign. switch #### that's the correct connection for all added electronics
