not up for any position-Just wondering what the difference is between that and costume designer

Hi..
I've been in theatre for a long time and have never heard the term "costume liaison."

Just guessing, I'd say that in a community theatre, you are often scrounging for lots of help from the community in which you live. You might go to a furniture store for set pieces for a show or to an antique store for the loan of props?

Thus, it may be that a person who sits on the board of a community theatre who has connections to local retail stores or other sources for costumes might be the go-to person to help the costume designers for each production come up with wardrobe. Tight budgets mean creative producing.
