... you get busted for smoking by your dad?

He just sent me this sms-

"Where did you learn to pick up smoking, school is it?"

I have a few answers I thought up of; I'll give best answer to anyone who can provide a smart rebuttal for me (besides my own that is lol)

1. No actually, from you. :)

2.Oh gee, I dunno. I happened to pick it up because I was surrounded by it night and day in my own home *rolls eyes*

3.Since people are smoking everywhere and I'm a passive smoker, I get most of the cigarette's **** and not the nicotine, so might as well i smoke since i'm getting 2nd hand useless smoke. What gives man.

THEN, I might add:"Who the f.u.ck gave u permission to go through my bag?"

Take note, I'm Asian, and Female. I'm from Singapore actually so... yeah.

PS: Ok, maybe without the f word, DUH. I'm just pissed off.

Haha thanks for the fast replies. Actually, the truth is I used to hate it back when I was younger. An avid fascination with anti-cigarettes, so to speak. Also, I picked it up... hmm... well partly school because my friends smoke, partly home because there used to be such easy access to cigarettes at home, and more importantly, I HATE my life, so I used cigarettes as an excuse to take my mind off the other matters that constantly invades my mind. If you care to see, my rebuttals lean towards the sarcastic side. I want to make him hurt by my words cos I hate him so much. Don't ask why. There's just so many things. Sarah, if he DOES really care about my health, he wouldn't smoke at all. He'd set a good example.

\m/- Keep it rolling guys, Best Answer for smartest rebuttal!

Eruirana, I'm 18 and turning 19 in a few days -_-"

You have a good point there I must say. However, I'm not going to defend myself, since the law already does that, rather, I want to be sarcastic and make him reflect on his own behaviour. I can always say "Its my life, who are you to butt (pun unintended) in and question me?" But nah, I'll skip that part.

I just want to come up with a smart rebuttal because 1, we aren't exactly in a goody father-daughter relationship; if you play the Sims, I'd say our lifetime relationship would be 32 on a scale of 100. -_-"

Yes, I got the point that it'll only antagonise things, so to keep within my limits of not getting everyone angry, I'm searching for a smart answr that does not transgress bounds. I kinds like the factual ones since I'm a science student. (Adds more to the whole sarcastic thing)

Well, I suppose it's a good thing he texted you rather than actually talked face to face. Who knows what you two would have said?

Obviously, I don't know all the details of your situation but take a moment and try to decide why he might have wanted to investigate. Are you underage for smoking in Singapore? Your country tends to be a little draconian when it comes to some issues of public health.

One way is to wait until you've calmed down a little and tell him why you started. You've already given a couple of reasons in that the behavior appears to be acceptable in the home and that he indulges in it. Realize, however, that the "just because you do it, I can do it too" defense is fairly weak since you have the ability to decided what you want to do or not.

Honestly, you don't need any smart remarks. They will only boost the antagonism. Playing it calm and providing accurate information to him will do a lot better. Perhaps offer to stop if he will. If he takes you up on it, you'll both be doing yourselves a favor.

When you decide to do something, that your parents don't approve of Don't make excuses and blaim others for your decisions. All of what you say may be true, but that does'nt make it right.Anyway it's no big deal, your dad will have to accept things as they are.Mind you he'll not want you smoking in his presance.
