Most people have different amount of bowel movements a day or week. For some, it may be normal to have 2 or 3 bowel movements a day! For others, that many per week. However, I say you should aim for 1 per day. BMs mean that your digestive tract is working. The more time that goes by without a BM means that your colon may get clogged up. Not only is that unhealthy, it gets uncomfortable. It's also possible to gain weight because of the amount of feces built up. You should try eating more fiber and drinking more water in your diet. If it doesn't work, then try taking a laxative.

No this is not normal and it should get checked right away. Most likely it will be something treatable possibly even cureable but it is not something that can be ignored. Often times in things like this time can make a big difference and the sooner it gets checked out the more likely it is that nothing too bad will come of it.
I hope your friend feels better very soon....I know it is scary to see blood in your stools but stress can likely make it worse so take a deeep breath, relax and have faith that it won't be too bad.

Do you bleed often while having a bowel movement? Of course its not normal, send your friend to the doctor asap. Could be something simple, yet could be something more serious. Don't let your friend wait, give him support and take him to the doctor. Good luck

It's not normal, but it is common. It could be many things, the most benign of which are hemmorhoids. Make sure he visits a doctor to have it checked. Going to the doctor is no pleasure, but leaving a treatable problem untreated is even worse.

This is in no way normal. He needs to see AT LEAST his family doctor, if not go to the ER. It could range from something fairly small (an internal hemroid) or it could be ulcerative colitis...etc. There are far to many possibilities.

No that is not normal and needs to be checked by the doc soon. It might only be hemorrhoids but it could be something worse so encourage them to see the doc and get this checked out soon.

no if that has continued for over a month he needs to go to the doctor because he probably has a liver or kidney disease. If he doesn't go right away it could get worst and possibly die.
