I know how you feel and I am in much sympathy with you, I feel the same way and I have 3 daughters between 20-26 and I feel because of this emptiness I am certainly letting them down. Doing nothing happened when I met this guy and I feel less than a person, not at all like a woman.
My husband died at 35 years old of a heart attack and my life has been miserable since. It is certain that I do have a problem with relating to the once business woman I was before, but just cannot get there again ...so now I am agorophobic and do not know what to do.

read a book.
I don't know why people call emptiness depression. After all nothing is not equal to sadness. We are sad when we feel bad about stuff. Why do they call it depression, when we're generally not thinking anything?
And there are those who call too-much thinking as bad. As I see it, it's very difficult to know what is normal.
Think -- schizophrenic, sometimes think, sometimes don't think -- bipolar, Don't think at all -- depression, don't care at all -- dissociation, laugh -- manic
Very confusing. The early psychiatrists warned that this will come to this -- when every normal human emotion will be easily debased to suit the psychiatrists diagnosis just because they felt like saying something.
I think if people have a valid reason to cry, they should be allowed to cry and not forced to say "I am depressed". I saw a man call himself depressed because his student lost his sister. Another woman lives without money and six months' of bills with no food. These people have genuine problems not depression. No amount of medicine can cure the situation, unless they find the solution to their problems.
Why is it that I am the only person who sees this? Doesn't it seem logical? Or maybe I am completely out of mind.

I know how you feel....I'm absolutely the same way. My friends help me by making me go out with them. That kind of distracts me from concentrating on my emptyness. Sometimes I just stay at home and watch movies or funny TV shows...getting a real hard laugh makes me feel alive again :)

I know exactly how you are feeling. I have been there and I am still dealing with it. Get help. Find someone you can talk to, someone who can help you because that's the only way anything is going to get better.

I feel ya. I get into the same thing myself from time to time. All you can do is wait it out and maybe something will change. One thing that might help is to get a tattoo. Or maybe go bowling.

unfortunately this is one of the great side effects of depression! feeling numb is no fun. but sometimes i tell myself, it's better to be numb than to feel so much pain. you should try listening to some music.
