cats are pregnant for an average of 65 days. This is the average time the cat gives birth from the first mating. If your cat is in labor and having kittens now it can take anywhere from 2-10 hours or more depending on how many kittens she is going to have and if she is having difficulties.
Please bring her inside to have her kittens. They need a warm place. Kittens can not control their own body temperature for the first week or so of life and it is important they stay warm or they will die.
I highly recommend getting your cat spayed once her litter of kittens has been weaned.

I gather your cat is in labour now? From spotting, labour usually starts within 2 hours. The external signs of this are muscular contractions of the flanks. When your cat feels this she will probably get into the "nesting box" & start purring & maybe panting alarmingly. After the first kitten is born, the next one can take any time from 10 minutes to 45 minutes, & so on. If this is her first litter, stay with her to comfort her if you can. It is a lovely experience.

Just like with People it depends. Some labors can be quick and others can last for hours and it also depends on how many kittens she is having. Happy Thanksgiving A good night for new babies kittens. One thing for sure you'll never forget their Birthday when they get news homes. The Vet will know for their shot records and spaying maybe declawing? I know my Cat Mia's birthday is 3-3-03!

You can simply notice the pregnant signs in your queen both physical and personality changes. You can easily remember the cat gestation period with human gestation period as the former will go up to nine weeks and the later up to nine months.
The common pregnant signs are:
Abdominal enlargement
Frequent vomiting
Increased Appetite
Pinking of nipples
Cessation of heat cycle
If your cat receives regular veterinary care, there is no need to panic about the cat health pregnancy signs, unless you have cause to alarm something is wrong.

If you are talking about gestation, it takes 63-65 days. If you are talking about labor, it varies. Once the cat starts delivering, it may take 1 to 2 hours as she will clean each one as they come. Please give her a place inside to have her babies, maybe a closet or a box.

Not that long. Usually they like to go and deliver in a dark place. Our cat delivered kittens in a suitcase one early morning.
