I've read most of the statements Murtha made. He isn't acting critical of his fellow soldiers in Iraq he is critical of their leadership from the White House. If you can supply a link to a statement where he is critical of the soldiers in Iraq I'd would love to read it. As far as his war record? He was a Military Intelligence officer and served it Vietnam. His medals. Who knows? Did he earn them? Did someone owe him a favor and write them? Nobody will ever know the truth. It's to far in the past. And really doesn't matter now anyway.

The mission of a soldier and the person of a soldier are two very different things. The Mission in Iraq is Bad! The soldiers are good!
(Please repeat this until you understand)
Ask yourself this question. Were all the soldiers on the Rebel side of the American Civil War bad people? Of course not, but their cause was unjust.
Mission = Cause. Soldier = Person. Mission can be and often is bad! But, person in Army is trained to be a soldier and take orders of authorities above them who also make Mission. Soldiers do not make Mission.
Soldiers do and die for Mission. Two different things.
Stop the horse @@@@.

He definitely is - soldiers are bound by order not to complain even if they're being sent to the slaughter as a result of hard headed idiot superiors (military and civilian) who are too dumb to admit their mistakes. Without John Murtha the soldier is doomed. It's sad that he is alone in his battle.

What do you mean? Provide specifics. Is the right wing now pretending that Murtha insulted the troops, too?
How can anyone claim that someone who wants to save them from getting killed in a futile occupation is anything but loyal to the troops?

John Murtha is a lying corrupt traitor who would be in prison with John Kerry if I were in charge. When I had Kerry and Murtha in prison I would put O J Simpson and Charles Manson in the cell with them, cook a steak dinner for OJ and Charles, and give OJ and Charles a fork and a steak knife.

I was unaware that all veterans must adhere to a standard opinion upon entering (or finishing) service. To deviate must be an act of subservience in this great nation of ours, yes?
