It's very natural for a cat to know that behaviour. He is simply going by his instinct and yes it's very possible for him to inpregnate her at such a young age. I have known them to do that. I have kept cats all my life and have raised over a dozen litters. The best thing to do is keep an eye on the lil guy which is almost impossible, nature always finds a way. Don't be surprised though if this would happen.

Hi there. I used to foster kittens, at one time I had 13 in the same room...yeah it was interesting and I can't say I'd ever do it again (13 at the same time that is) anyway I had several kittens at the same time, from two different litters and then introduced a third kitten by itself a few days later. It ignored all the others but whenever any other cat got close, it hissed and batted. He was just pissy in general. Anyway at night I would separate them because it's impossible to monitor their behavior, I think I'd be most afraid of claws in the eye or something along those lines. During the day I would put them together. They will develop social skills and learn to live with one another.

kittens are usually weaned at 6 weeks of age!! I hope you are feeding the kitten solid food! If not...no wonder he is nursing as he must be starving! I am surprised the shelter is not helping you more with the care of these cats! Go ahead and get the mother spayed!

Ok, at 3 & 1/2 months, the kitten should already be weaned. Kittens can be taken from their mothers at 8 weeks. So, go ahead and have her spayed.

No. Animals like dogs and cats are not sexually mature until about 6-8 months of age. (Usually 8 for males). However, he should have been weaned by now-- the absolute latest a kitten or puppy should be weaned by is 4-6 WEEKS. And, obviosly, the kitten should be neutered as soon as possible, otherwise he may wind up "oversexed". Which nobody appreciates.

Very unlikely to get his mom pregnant. Why do you think he is imatating another animal? Mateing comes natural to all animals. They are not taught how to mate.A 3 month old kitten nursing is way beyond my understanding. There is no need for it.Seperate them the mother and kitten for a week. Its not normal to allow a kitten that old to nurse.

I've never heard of this problem, but I'd keep them in separate areas to be safe. He's way overdue to be weaned anyways. I'm amazed his mother has been letting him feed. I'd put the poor kitty in heat into a separate room so she can stay away from the annoying guys.

No, your kitten should not be able to get his mother pregnant. I think that what you have here is a simple case of monkey-see, monkey-do. Even though he is still feeding off her, he can see what the other male cats have done, and wants to do the same.
