Good point you have there. The problem is that with the corrupted governments of many Latin American countries, financial aid would be kept by the rich. The solution would be that the United States Government stopped intervening in Latin American politics as much and let them have a socialist kind of government. Uncle Sam wants every country to have their kind of democracy, but they don't realize that it only works with educated people. Most people in the U.S. have a fairly good education, but this is not the case with many Latin American countries.
Let's take Chile as an example, which is the country with the strongest economy in Latin America. They used to be consiered "third world" as well, until President Pinochet got into power and he FORCED children to get an education. After many years of ruling this country, he finally ended his term but now Chile has a strong economy and good education. I would guess that if that happened in every Latin American country then we would all be a different continent. Contact me if you have any thoughts about this.

Problem Mexico monopolies are doing just fine. Problem number two is they aren't giving back as is the tradition in USA. Mexican Government is unable to see need for public works, infrastructure, schools, hospitals, libraries, water treatment plants, reservoirs, and so the lists goes on; all of which would create jobs. With a stock market in the 20,000 even in pesos that's a lot of pesos

I agree-they need help. I don't agree with people who ignore our laws.
Instead of saying that man is the creature of circumstance, it would be nearer the mark to say that man is the architect of circumstance.
Helping them in their homeland would be a goal--helping them break the law here or supporting that is wrong. Laws have a purpose.
There has to be a better way.

We DO send aid to Mexico, but the corrupt leaders keep it and use it for selfish reasons. The poor people of that country see very little of it. But, we keep sending it anyway (?) Looks to me like our government, lol, would see that and instead of giving that aid to the Mexican government we would help those people more directly with implements/equipment to work fields/gardens, seeds, animals to farm, etc. so they could help themselves with a "hand UP", not a "hand OUT". We should stop all aid to Mexico until every last illegal immigrant has left our country.
The only way to help impoverished countries is to encourage skilled professionals IN those countries to stay there instead of immigrating to countries like the USA and to help in bringing their countries out of third world status. They could be great agronomist, teachers, technical professionals, administrators who could help them. Instead, those people want to leave to come to the USA to live a 'better life', also.

The system is not designed to help our fellow neighbors. We only help countries that have some sort of benefit to us (money, oil, gas, etc.) I believe that our standards are the most efficient but also the most ***-backwards.

We help countries that are poor, that suffer devastation, natural duster, countries that have seriously oppressed their people, countries that pose a threat to the rest of the world. Mexico does not fit any of these.
