It matters not what you believe, as long as what you believe is the truth.

"Why is it so wrong to believe what you want?"

Beliefs turn into actions and some of those actions effect everyone around you.

"Why can't you just believe whatever you want, why do you have to be put in a certain religon?"

You don't! It's OK to be an atheist. It's very healthy for you actually.

"Why do other people try to force their religon on you?"

They are insecure about their beliefs and the more people they can get to believe what they do the better they feel about those beliefs. Some do so because they honestly believe their religion is true and think they are doing good by saving you from the wrath of their all-loving god who they think is going to torture you for eternity for not believing.

You can believe whatever you want because God gave you freewill, it's just that most people like to put everyone in a certain box to easily catorgorize them.

I do not know why other religions "force" their religion on others. I only know from a Christian standpoint. And so my question to you to explain your last question is, if you knew the cure for cancer wouldn't you tell everyone you know to save all people from that horrible death? Would you call a person a killer if they could cure cancer and didn't?

The truth is that all have fallen short of God's standards and the wages of that sin is eternal death. The Bible has the cure to that terminal disease. If more 'Christians' truly believed this, they would be telling everyone they met that they had the cure to eternal damnation.

I would never want to make anyone feel I was "forcing" my beliefs on them. You ask, what is wrong with believing whatever you want. Well....Jesus Christ said unless a man be born again, he will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus also made the claim that He was the way, the truth and the life, and that no man comes to the Father, but by Him. Therefore, if this statement is true, unless you have faith in Jesus, you will not go to heaven when you die, but to hell.

You don't have to believe that....but I think it's important that you know that there is a choice to make about who you say Jesus is.

You don't have to be put in a certain religion if you choose not to be, if I had to guess though I would say that what ever religion that is closest to what you believe is where you would be classified.

Alot of religions want to convert as many as possible to their religion, or they believe that they are the "only true" religion.

I can't force or push my religion on anyone, I can tell them what I believe and why, but it's up to them to make the choice for themselves.

I am a muslim woman, and personally, I don't think everyone can be a part of the same religion. I feel everyone should believe as they choose to so long as they don't harm anybody in the process. I also feel this way because my religion says it. You hear a lot of different things, but most of it is not the whole truth. Just as they take verses from our Quran and twist them out of context, so can be done with all other religions and religious texts. If you don't like a religion, fine, but nobody should go out of their way to make people of that religion feel low. It's the individual's life, it's what they choose to think. No single person on earth has ANY right to control what another says or feels. As I already said, my main thing is not harming anybody. believe what you will, just don't push it on me or anyone else.

You CAN believe whatever you want, because God has given you a free will. But, wouldn't you want to believe the truth? If you knew your religion was wrong, why would you want to follow it, just because it gives you a good feeling?

I pray that you seek--and find--the truth.

Because we are easily swayed to believe lies. If you knew someone who believed that rape was a good thing, wouldn't you correct them?

As a Christian, when i see someone who believes in something that is not true, I'm going to do what I can to help them see the truth (just as you would tell the rapist that he is wrong). God is our source of truth. Why live life apart from Him?

I don't think ANY religion is wrong. You should be able to make your own mind up on what religion is right for you. The only time a religion is wrong is when it promotes hate and hurting others because of their religious choices or because of your sex.

Wrong by whose standard? You have the right to practice whatever faith you chose and you also have the right not to believe in anything. You have free will and nobody can take that away from you.

The person named 'Gary' who answered your question is a great example of the point you made. He UTTERLY believes in his particular point of view, and things EVERYONE else should believe likewise. He will NOT consider any other point of view EVER. His mind is utterly closed. He is no more interested in truth than my chair is interested in truth.
