Comedians always make fun of white people and can seem to get away with it but when a white comedian makes fun of a black person everyone seems to get upset. What's up with that?

The history between blacks and whites in our countries is a huge part of this. Slavery and segregation meant blacks were at first considered property and later second class citizens in the US all the way up until the second half of the 20th century. Today we're all supposed to be equal, but the reality is segregation is alive and well. While our most prestigious institutions are no longer legally restricted to blacks, they still remain largely white. The blacks who have risen in socio-economic status prove racist notions of inferiority wrong. So why do so many blacks remain on the bottom? A combination of inconspicuous racism and a nation that allows generation after generation to remain trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty.
Also, there is a collective white guilt that puts pressure on people not to say certain things. That same collective guilt among whites justifies in the minds of many the jokes of black comedians which in some cases maybe just as racist. Because there is no history of brutal oppression of whites by blacks, a joke by a black comedian can be seen as just a joke, even if the joke is in poor taste. But a similar joke from a white comedian serves as a reminder of a time when it was acceptable to harass, intimidate, and even lynch black people.

First off i am black, second I think if a comedian makes fun of everybody it is fine, but if he/she picks out one feature(skin or otherwise) it is ignorant. A lot of people don't consider talking about any skin color other than black as racism, but IT IS.

i don't think of it particularly is nice for any ethnicity, race, lifestyle, etc to make exciting of the different. i recently heard Carlos Mencia say it particularly is superb, cuz it particularly is "in basic terms a shaggy dog tale". he's humorous, yet he's lifeless incorrect. that's how fights start up, and riots, and wars. Irresponsible human beings like Carlos Mencia in basic terms inciting those issues and that they are hiding at the back of the "it extremely is a loose u . s . a ." factor. it particularly is his in basic terms reason, as he can not discover the different. organic copout.

Because black people never did horrible things to us. The term "Cracker" doesn't really make fun of us for being white, but it refers to the men who watched the slaves, when they whipped them with the "cat-o-nine-tales" it would make a crackling sound.

When they would run up with their horses, the slaves would warn eachother "here comes the cracker" hence, the crackling sound with the whip.

incase you didn't know this, black people endured 200 years of slavery and just received civil rights 50 years ago. Now tell me, dont you think it's wrong to make fun of black people since it wasn't too long ago this occurred?? Racism still exists towards African Americans; therefore, it doesn't make it right to make fun of them

Because they think "Oh, White ppl made fun of us so much in the past it isn't even funny, let's make fun of them twice as much!" And people say, "Oh, since the Black ppl got made fun of so much in the past, it's ok to make fun of White people now"

I think this is basically all very racist and prejudice
