Skip the picture with Santa. Try getting some kitty antlers, a Santa hat, or an elf hat and take her picture wearing it next to a present or something, in the comfort of your own home.

Dress up like Santa, set up a chair in front of a hanging sheet, pick up the cat, and take the pick yourself (well, have a friend take it).
Timid animals aren't the best for handing over to someone else - the other person's scent isn't familiar to them.
Not to mention that taking the pic yourself will mean more to you later on, than having a pic of some guy you don't know in a costume holding your little one.

There's no real need to send your cat to have a picture made with Santa Claus, especially if she's a timid cat. Think of the poor guy who's gonna have to try to hold her! He's gonna get clawed to death! Have mercy on Santa's soul and maybe YOU take a picture with Santa while YOU'RE holding the cat. Makes it easier on everyone.

I would skip the picture with Santa if the cat is timid. It would be pretty traumatic for her. Maybe you can take some cute holiday photos of her at home.

If he/she is timid, it is not a good ideal. It will only freak the kitty out and take it longer to calm down. Not only that but some of its trust in you will be destroyed. It depends on you for love & safety. Dont do it. Give more time, maybe next year. They make calming stuff for cats and dogs. Even the homopathic, which are safer, and can be taken with other medicines. GOD BLESS YOU! sus04mc@yahoo.com

You could try getting the cat used to the noise and people. Try getting her to not be afraid of the camera flash. Maybe take a few pictures around her, not at her.
But really, if your cat is still afraid of the picture, than don't do it and wait until next year. Or buy Photoshop from Circuit City and doctor a picture with Santa and your cat.

Maybe you could pose with santa while holding her? Another thing I might try is giving her some natural calming stuff in her water/food. Whenever I have to take my cats to the vet I give them some "Calm Down!" that I got from Petco so that they don't freak out as much. This might help...

Then dont bother her. You will traumatize her to bring her where there is gonna be strange animals and strange people. Plus if she struggles, she or the guy playing santa could get hurt.

Leave her at home or have someone she knows dress up as Santa. It will just be stressful for her if you force her to do something she doesn't want to do.
