It's cheaper to use than "real" fats, and it preserves food on the grocery shelves for unaturally long periods of time.

It's because consumers like the taste, and marketers will do whatever it takes to keep the money coming in, no matter who it kills.

a) most people don't give a crap what they shovel into their bodies, b) food companies sure don't care as long as you buy their product and c) they do make the food taste oh, so good.

It would be horrible if food didn't have Transfat in them.. you can't have no sugars or fat in your entire life... then you could probably die... sorry about that. :)

it's really difficult to omit it from our daily cooking. maybe the solution to this is to regulate it. try cutting down.
