Eating too much of a substance without any nutritional value is called "pica". It is the medical term for people who eat loads of ice or clay. Unless you are dehydrated, too much ice can cause some serious issues like water intoxication or hypertension not to mention that you will pee alot. If you are "craving" the ice chips then this could be a sign of pica and i would recommend talking to your doctor because it has been medically proven to be linked to anemia if your ice chomping is serious.

No I think that it is wonderful to eat ice everyday! I love to eat ice and I know that is water. So as long as the ice was made from water and not pop or something it is healthy!
Best wishes :]

If you crush the ice first, then eating the ice is not bad for you in itself. Crushing it helps to stop the bad affects to your teeth.
The problem is that eating alot of ice is a sign of anemia and/or iron deficiency.
