My cats both have 6 toes on their front paws. The vet said it is a recessive gene that can appear at any time. Most people call them Hemingway cats. The vet called it paridactyl syndrom.

Some cats are born with extra paws, extra nails, it's one of those genetic defect things. A six or seven or even eight pawed cat. I've seen it before , it's kind of freaky.
