Just make sure you let him know that you love him, that you think about him, that you miss him. Are you talking about what to say on the telephone? Ask him about his favorite TV shows, his pets, his friends, etc. Just let him know that you don't forget about him.

Aside from expressing your love, tell him why you have to be away from each other and ask him how he is doing and be interested in what he's been up to. Keep in touch often.
