In the Old Testament you have the numerous prophets who speak the Word of the Lord and have God speaking for Himself to Moses and so on...
but in the New Testament you have God the Son coming down to earth in the flesh. I'm sure most Christians would say that the New Testament is better proof because it is Jesus that they and I myself put our faith in. So what say you?

Regardless of your answer, may God bless you and bring you into His arms of Love. (",)

Ermm hello, to those who keep saying that there is no proof for Christianity, I'd like to say this:

The Bible is proof of God and His love and salvation to all who believe it. It's because we believe the Word that we put our faith in God for the salvation we have accepted through Christ our Lord. For "Faith comes by hearing the Word of God". I hope that clears up any misunderstanding you guys/gals might have.

God bless you all! :)

I say both, the Old testament is God's prophets consulting, hearing and prophecying to the people and the New Testament is his son Jesus doing the same thing, but He was here on earth. My faith is is God, who is The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. God does exist, so does Jesus, it's just they are spiritual beings and Jesus and the prophets that have walked this earth is proof of God's being.

God bless you and may you always be in his presence.

It was Jesus who said that it would be easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the law to fail.(Luke 16:17) I think the Bible is a unit and you cannot separate the Old Testament from the New. You cannot understand the New Testament accurately without a knowledge of the Old, but you cannot properly interpret the events or prophecies or types and shadows of the Old Testament without a revelation of the Spirit of Christ to the human spirit. As it is written "Now He said to them, 'These are My word which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me (Jesus) in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.' Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures' " (Luke 24:44,45)

both and here's why:

the old testament talks about life before Jesus and the New Testament life with him and after. they are both important! also there are many signs in the old testament of what was to come in the new testament. Isaiah spoke and said, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." This happened in the new testament and is a big sign.

there are many more examples like this and i can show you some if you want me to. i believe they are both equally important. without God creating the earth Jesus couldn't have come down to save anyone because nobody would be here, including you and I today. However, it is very important to understand what Jesus did for us, by dying on the cross and to understand his teachings. i believe both are important.

Jesus came to fulfill the prophesies in the Old Testament, and is incomplete without the New Testament. Without the Old Testament, the New Testament has no foundation. Which is is better? Neither. To use one without the other is like trying to put a jigsaw puzzle together with only half the pieces.

Neither the Old Testament nor the New Testament ever try to prove God's existence. They assume it. The Old Testament starts right out: "In th ebeginning, God...". In the New Testament, we read in Romans 1 that the existence of God can be seen from the creation. No arguments offered. For the Bible writers to try to prove the existence of God would be like me to try to prove the existence of air, or of clothing ... some things are just too obvious.

I'm going with the New Testament. It's God in the flesh, as opposed to God in the Tabernacle, although both could be used. Just depends on your opinion.

neither is proof of the existence of anything. if i wrote a book about the existence of a city on a distant planet way beyond our ability to travel there, would you believe it? What is the difference believing that versus believing in heaven other than the popularity of the belief? I don't mean to be disrespectful.

I would say the New Testament because the Lord talks more to us through the inspired writers and himself.

Neither is proof. Proof is something that can be shown to be true to everyone. Faith in a religion isn't proof of that religion, it's just an individuals personal belief.
