in most schools, an A would have to be 90+, and anything below 60 is failing. but in our school

80-100 = A
70-79 = B
60-69 = C
50-59 = D

50- = fail

why is this?

thanks! no rude answers please.

No offense, but uhhh, where are you from?
In VA it's 93-100 A and DC it's 94-100 A and MD it's 90-100 A.
I thought 90-100 is pretty easy, but jeez, I had no idea any school had THAT low of standards. Maybe people from your district find it harder to pass.

Your school either has lower standards OR it is an advanced placement school which allows that its subject matter is harder and adjusts your grades accordingly to acknowledge the extra work. (Why would any sane person take a harder English class that would lower his or her grade , but if the grading scale is adjusted it is fair)

because you live in a strange school district, which is probably doing that to appear as a better "educational facility" to state education officials
