I personally don't know what the big deal is. Why should it matter? I am Jewish and pretty proud of it, but if someone wishes me a Merry Christmas, who am I to argue and say "I'm Jewish"? The fact that this person has acknowledged me and wished me a happy holiday (whether it be from my religion or not) should be taken as a compliment.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza.... Whatever.

What about those who say Happy New Year? If a Chinese person were to be greated with Happy New Year, would it be appropriate for them to say "Oh I'm Chinese, this isn't MY New Year". No.

It is true that Wal-Mart is now allowing its employees to wish a "Merry Christmas". Also you will see it in print in Wal-Mart whereas last year they only used "Happy Holidays."

Didn't even know they went away. It's all the same to me, I can't stand either the conservatives who yak this up like it's all-out war on Christianity, or the liberals who think all the phrases must be all inclusive.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Groovy Kwanzaa, WHATEVER. Just get your shopping done and realize it's time for a LOT of holidays.

if they did then good for them! but it sickens me to hear ppl say "Happy Holidays" at stores instead of "Happy Thanksgiving" or "Merry Christmas". Since Thanksgiving is still here, Happy Thanksgiving! Starting December 15 I'll start saying Merry Christmas. Before that is too early!

well that would be a big surprise seeing as 5% of all the money that they make in the 2 days after thanksgiving will be donated to homosexuals. they tend not to like anything that has to do with Jesus. it tends to tell them they are wrong.
