I believe 5 months is long enough for her to obtain a new M'sian passport. Ask her to approach the nearest immigration department (Putrajaya, Pusat Bandar Damansara) pay rm300, she would get a new pasport valid for 5 yrs less that 1 month..

Ask her to do it once she comes back from her trip.

Hmm... there is no express application, since nowadays, it only takes 3 days to get a new passport... for a RM300 fee.

If she has only 5 months left on the passport...she definitely need to renew... otherwise she won't be allowed to board the plane..

But...if she has less than 3 days... then she might want to get the help of the immigration's director personally... it's still possible, but very hard to get to those busy ppl...
Heck...if less than 3 days...just reschedule the flight...:)

If she's in S'pore.... then just drive back to Johore and do the passport there...
