I'm 24, I've served 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, and I've found a lady that I enjoy being with, only she's 44. Her ex-husband is giving us sh*t because I'm so young. Neither of us mind, but it's really hard sometimes dealing with the crap people are giving us. Just wanted to know what you guys thought

We live in a small town, and everybody knows everybody. I am not into hiding or being ashamed of who I am or who I'm with, and we're together openly. Either he's seen us or someone that knows him has seen us and reported back. It doesn't matter what he thinks, but he's a respected person in the community and I don't like people thinking negatively of me when they don't know me or my situation.

I think it's great...and to hell with the jealous evil-minded old gossips (used to live in a small town, I know). If you find someone you have that connection with, sieze it with gusto. Unless, of course, it's illegal! ;) Anyway, I have a feeling that your tours of duty have matured you beyond the average 24 yr old, and I would imagine that you and your lady love are on a level playing field in a lot of ways. Good Luck!

My Friend, the gap is too far. It isn`t easy for both of you to overcome it and make it into one vision, if you are thinking a bout long term relationship.
On the other hand She is mature woman, and you maybe still wanna have some fun, enjoying your youth....
So it will be hurt for you when find all those things out later. I know it coz I`m 33 years old now, at least I had been there at 24.
Your way is still long, what a bout if you found someone else later, menawhile you`ve had commitment with her?
But if you are just make this as a temporary relationship, not serious just haveng fun, and forgive me if I`m wrong she`s lonely, and needed you to fill her loneliness and just to have fun., so go ahead....

Is dating a woman 20 years older than me wrong?

Nothing wrong with it in my eyes. If you're happy together then to heck with what other people think. Age is simply a number and I just so happen to know how those older women can get under your skin. wink wink

I would question why her ex-husbands opinions mean anything to either one of you and why he would know who or what she is doing with you or anyone else, more than I would question the age difference. If you all are happy with your arrangement, then what difference does it make? And he's just ticked cause his ex is getting her some yound and tenders. But maybe you should keep your business more private. I am not a fan of informing my ex's of anything I do or who. Good luck!

I would think it depends on if you were instrumental in the cause of the divorce or not.
If the divorce had already taken place or they were already separated, then the two of you are fine and have fun for as long as it lasts and that may be for a very long time.

You both are going through completely different stages in your lives, but if you both are happy and enjoy eachother I dont see a problem with it. But you will have to deal with sh*t from others.

Screw what people think. Men have been doing that for ages, now older women are enjoying young men and young men are lovin' experienced women. Have fun!

It's not that it's wrong...it's just odd because you're both at very different points in your lives.
