I have an abscessed tooth. i been taking antibiotics and pain killers for the past day and a half or so. earlier i noticed some pus coming from near my tooth. i was just wondering if i have to be worried about getting some in my system and if puss keeps coming out.

I know someone like you. he had an infectious disease into his body then you must go to an infectious Dr. very fast & try to find what infectious has made this sever problem to you.
"dont take it easy"
I suggest you to have a full CBC (blood test).

Follow your doctors orders and you can also do some gargling with mouthwash to kill a lot of the germs. Also you could take half and half, water and Hydrogen Peroxide mixed in equal portions and gargle with that or swish it around the area that is infected. Or you could do it with the peroxide alone. Does not take a lot so keep it in your mouth for several minutes. Good oral hygiene will take care of the problem most of the time so be sure to brush your teeth every day and use mouthwash.

Take all your anti-biotics & then go back to the dentist to work on the tooth.Spit the excess puss out & rinse mouth with salt water.

my son is 5 years old and had an abscessed tooth.It swelled up in a big bump.Yes its an emergency.i was told the poision can kill you.I took him to an orthidontist and he pulled his tooth out and put him on antibiotics.I hope you are better

Rinse with warm salt water and get yerself to the Dentist. The poison in the abscess can kill you. I know of someone whom died that way. GET GOIN!!

must be history of trauma few yrs back
select good antibiotics pref..Lincomycin[500mg]thrice a day
go for RCT

yes you do need to be worried. Get yourself to a dentist tomrrow! It will get in your bloodstream, infect your jawbone, it does all kinds of bad things.
