Candy alone does not make you fat; eating a crap diet, being inactive and other environmental triggers combine to add on the pounds. If you're concerned about the candy or snacking in general then keep healthy snacks on hand. Buy some fruit (fresh and dried), vegetables, regular roasted nuts, and water. If you're a snacker keep the water handy; no calories and it keeps you occupied, hydrated and feeling fuller. But keep in mind that one candy bar won't hurt you. It's a combination of bad eating and activity habits that will do it.
