Is it illegal for a 13 year old to go out with a 16 year old. I heard it wasn't, but then I also heard it was. It is a true relationship and is surley abstinent, and also both are very mature. I don't know who to listen to. I wouldn't even call it that type of relationship, but really close friends, that hang out with each other, but nothing like people think. And also both parents know each other. Sorry if it is a stupid question but I really want to know the answer.

No, it isn't illegal to have that type of relationship. The legal factor is that no man, or boy, come to that, should have sex with you.
It depends really on both his and your intentions because if you were to allow a sexual act to take place, then you are as guilty as he is.
So, just be close friends, kiss and hug, but draw the line there. You're very young yet, and there's heaps of time for you to get to know each other properly, without taking things too far.

You say you are both mature...NOT
A mature 16 yr old does not date a 13 yr old. (PERIOD)
You wouldn't be asking about legal ages if you hadn't
been thinking about getting her in the sack.
So, slow down. Your headed for trouble, laws or no laws.
If you wait 3 years and she turns 16...You still have the same problem...cause you'll be 19. In most states, that's not okay.

Believe it or not, ask your Dad. You never forget the crazy stuff that happens to you as a teen....I bet he has an answer.

That's legal.
It's only illegal for people that are age 18 and over to date "minors" or people that are under 18. But people aged 13 and 16 are completely legal... :) Plus if they're just friends it doesn't matter. There's no law with that... I'm friends with people years older than me and it's okay. Don't even care what people think. It's great they have such a good relationship, especially if their parents are friends and everything. Don't worry everything is fine with that... :)

The age regulation trumps the consent regulation (in basic terms considering the undeniable fact that's greater particular). This in basic terms potential that the guy this is sixteen has the felony proper to have intercourse with somebody as much as the age of 18. the nineteen three hundred and sixty 5 days previous is now to previous, and the sixteen three hundred and sixty 5 days previous no longer has that proper.

Laws are different in different states regarding age differences that define statutory rape (this is what you are asking about). In any case, the friendship is not illegal if there is no sexual activity of any kind going on between the 16 y.o. and the 13 y.o.

Well...you may be mature, but I don't think I would exactly trust a 16 yr old boy. BUT...to answer your question, YES it's ok. Legality doesn't become an issue until sex is.

It is not illegal. But thirteen and sixteen year olds are not mature. It is illegal for an adult (someone 18 years or older) to date a minor.

It doesn't matter how mature you think you are you both are still children with nothing in common. 13 yr olds are just finding themselves, and 16 yr olds are trying to explore their sexuality.

Well, I don't know where you live but in Australia it is legal as long as there is no sex involved. You can only have sex with someone within two years of your age until you reach the age of sixteen. Then you can have sex with anyone so long as they are not a teacher or guardian. Hope that helps.
