I'm in a long distance relationship and I am kind of worried about loosing touch with each other when we are away. The long distance thing is temporary (for about a year or two). What are some good ways to keep it strong and spice it up too? I have tried sexy e-mails and cute e-cards and I'm just looking for creative new ways to keep things exciting even though we don't get to see each other much...

I think it depends on how old you are. I know you asked for "ways" but I find myself thinking in "if"s here. I would say if you are under 30 this is going to be a very big chunk out of your life, honey. The best way to keep it alive would be frequent visits. If you can't swing that then I really think you should think twice about trying. Sexy emails only point out the absence of any outlet. I really have to question the wisdom of that. I do wish you luck, though.

As with any relationship, keep it alive with a lot of communication and a very strong bond knit by trust, love and sincerity. Try to talk on the phone as often as possible, emails, text messages and use the postal service too (since it's nice to have something tangible from the one who is so physically far away). Try sending a stuffed animal (something that reminds you of them) and douse it with whatever fragrance you wear normally. In this perspective, they will have a small part of you to hold to pacify them until you are together again. If the committment and devotion are there mutually, your relationship will stay alive. Good luck!! :)

I am in the early stages of a long distance relationship, and the one thing I fear is loss of communication. Keep the lines of communication open and remember to be honest with one another. When time and place permits, plan sporadic visits to be with each other and keep things alive!

we were away from each other for a year and i found calling him on his phone (mobile, home, work) was quite a great help in keeping things hot and strong.writing each other is not as touching as hearing your sweetheart's voice.Avoid fighting over the phone and find something to do together like watching the same movie on some weekends and then meet on the phone to share what you both liked or didn't like.

The key to the success of a ld relationship is COMMUNICATION!! You have to have it in order to survive. I did this for 7 years with a college fiance. I will have to admit he became quite talented on the phone in certain areas of communication, if you know what I mean? Keep communicating! : )

same thing w/ me. phone calls...pics...oh..i'm smart: videotape something. send gifts for christmas and b-days too. you could send him a picture in a frame of you and do the same with him or a bracelet that says your name on it then send it too him. or buy a white t-shirt and write on it w/ special marker.
wow i came up w/ a lot!!!!!
