put it in a 400 degree oven for 1/2 hour, then turn the oven down to about 325 for about 3 hours.
It will be awesome.
and if you bake it breast DOWN, you will not have to baste it and your white meat will not be dry. Of course with this method, you will not be able to serve it on the perfect turkey platter as a whole turkey, but hey - isn't it easier for everyone to simply help themselves to sliced meat off of a platter?

The rule of thumb is an hour for every 4 pounds. So for about 4 hours or a little more. I start my turkeys at about 425 for the first 20 minutes, and then I turn it down to 325 for the rest of the time. Baste often. Starting at 425 seals in the juices and the turkey won't be too dry.

20 minutes per pound so that's 340 minutes which is 5 hours 40 minutes. Maybe at 325-350 depending on your oven. Baste it with chicken broth every 30 minutes or so and if the skin starts to get too brown, cover it with aluminum foil while cooking the rest of the time so it gets done in the middle.

I cooked an 18 pounder at 425 for 3 hours or until the thermometer inserted into the breast read 170. I brined the bird for 3 hours earlier it was juicy and the high temperature made the skin crisp. Use a rack to keep it out of the juices.

It's a little late, at least over here in est. time. About 20 minutes per pound stuffed, at 350 degrees, or 15 minutes per pound unstuffed, same temp. I hope I helped!

mix the garlic salt with the butter and stuff it up lower than the exterior between the exterior and meat. placed it contained in the pan and tent it with the foil. Bake it at 325 for 4 hours. it really is going to be finished. Poke a fork or knife into the meaty section and if the juice runs out sparkling, it really is done. no matter if it really is pinkish, it isn't finished and could require extra baking. Then come across it and no matter if it isn't brown adequate you would possibly want to come about the warm temperature till it really is browned.'
