Well, you could read my book "Looking for Answers in Genesis" which is being published in 2007 in Brisbane, Australia.

My book lifts the lid on the gross contradictions of creation's darling organisation. They don't have the answers, rather they have extremist fundamentalist views, bizarre science and contradictory claims.

Check it out...

The arguments for creation can be summed up in a few web pages. No need to read an entire book on the subject. The only argument that they seem to have is the argument for irreducible complexity. They said the eye was too complex to have evolved, but now we know how it could have evolved. They say, "What's the use in half a wing?", but even in today's world we have creatures who glide from tree to tree but can't fly. They will continue to bring up systems that they see as irreducibly complex and scientists will have to continually show they how they are not.

They will also say that since we don't know how life came into being in the first place, we know that it couldn't have and that it couldn't have evolved. This is what Dawkins calls the "God of the gaps". Every time we haven't known something in human history it has been attributed to a supernatural phenomenon. You can see this with rainbow miracle in the Bible. Just because we don't know something yet doesn't mean that God did it.

It's a good thing you're doing to read into both sides of the story, but reading an entire book is a waste of your time.

Unfortunately, most of the creationist books and websites out there are full of falsehoods which have been refuted many times by scientists. However the creationists are so practised at telling this sort of lie that they can be very convincing unless you have the facts at your fingertips.

If you do read any of the books proposed by other posters, I would recommend that you arm yourself with a copy of the talkorigins Index of Creationist Claims - it's a fantastic resource with refutations of all of the silliest bits of creationist nonsense. Most importantly, it includes references to the actual scientific literature, which the creationist books never do. http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc

There's a printed version too - The Counter-Creationist Handbook - although the web one is more up to date.

" Investigating Christian Evidences" by B. Thompson Ph.D. and Brad Harrub Ph.D

There are many, many more. Look up on-line Answers in Genesis, and Institute for Creation Research.

You should check out "Creation Research," John MacKay's group. He's a world-renowned geologist and creationist, and a smart man, not a nincompoop. He is widely respected by many evolutionists too for being such a lucid thinker, though, obviously, they do not agree with him.
He has some great books to suggest on his website, and he'll talk to you personally if you e-mail him. A great man.

I think John MacArthur's book "The battle for the beginning : the Bible on creation and the fall of Adam" is an excellent book for creationism.
