why are there so many people on here bad mouthing our troops? we can only do so much in iraq, we do have rules of engagement...but of course what does that matter...my husband doesnt get a chance to "fight", he's wondering which car he drives by is going to take him out, not an iraqi. but as you sit at your computer desk, typing your insults...my husband and thousands of other soldiers are patrolling the streets so you have the right to do it.

I suppose it is their constitutional right to freedom of speech to badmouth our troops. But I wonder if they have ever given thought to why they have that right. Do you reckon that they are taking advantage of a right that men like your husband have fought, bled, and given their lives for.
I do not completely agree with the was in Iraq. I pray every night that the men who are in our military there will come home soon and safely. My hat goes off to all of our nations soldiers.
I know that the comments of those people bother you. They need to get off the back of the men and women who are doing the job that the government tells them to.
I do not know who you are, or even your husband's name, but when I pray tonight before I go to bed, one of my prayers will be that he will come home safely to you and the rest of his family.
Always stand beside him and love him unconditionally.
God Bless You and Yours in this Holiday Season.

I haven't seen much troop-bashing. I have seen a lot of folks who say they're against the war, and the vast majority of them obviously have no idea what the military is about.
It is scary that the ignorant will flex their political muscle. I'm reminded of 1968, when Walter Cronkite got it completely wrong about the Tet offensive, which was a huge tactical victory for the U.S., and handed the NVA one of its greatest political victories of that war. But keep the faith. We still have some leaders with some sense, and it's still a republic, so the ignorant mob may not screw the troops too much.

What most people don't get is that when our military is called, they don't have a choice but to repond to the call. Ignorant people think they have this choice. They don't seem to get that our soldiers are called to duty by the politicians that hold office. The same Politicians we all vote (or DON'T vote) for. As far as I'm concerned, People don't have to support the war in Iraq. But they better well support our troops in Iraq. God bless them all! and no one knows that better than me , my Wife just got back from there.

because of the ignorance in this country there is nothing but vicous sentiment sent out accross the internet our troops are the very best in the world they are bar none the very best trained and taught ever but the military is not at blame for us in iraq it is the politicians that keep our hands tied and give us strict policy that dont allow are armed forces to circumvent and control there day to day situations which can change so drastically over a short time that is why we have not been able to police up our war zone effectively god bless those men and women that risk there lives daily for our rights to be free but god damn those politicians who dont care about anything or anyone but themselves

Dear Lady,
I do not think that people are bad mouthing the military men
and women who serve our country with honor. They are true hero's.
It is the traitors to are country that sent these men and women to die
for there personal profiting of these phony wars. Men like Cheney
and Bush, who work for the exploitation of any country and people. Including the people of the United States who they are ripping off by the trillions of dollars from the treasury to the cronie buddies. They are also "Targeting" american citizens here in the US who disagree with them and speak out. By using directed energy weapons againist them. Your husband is fighting for America and Freedom. Bush is sending your husbands to die and taking
away the freedom they are fighting for.

Yeah, it is really sad that some people like "Cassi" above us disrespects our military and the Military families. Being a soldier is a Volunteered career and it is only for men and women who have the BALLS to do the job the ones who bad mouth us can't do. Only our troops and their families actually know what it is to be part of the Military life. All the ones against our troops should know that THANKS to our soldiers they have the FREEDOM to insult us! I just Thank God for the ones who do support them.

Ooo-Rah! Semper Fidelis.
I suspect these people who speak so ill of our government and our military do so because they do not understand what aiding and abetting is. Nor do they understand that their words are not only seditious and treasonous, but are extremely hurtful to the friends and families left behind. I believe these people believe themselves to be doing themselves and this country a great sevice by exercising their right to freedom of speech. I only wish they'd learn to exercise their brains, listen, watch and maybe perhaps they mightl get a clue. They bag on Bush claiming he lied. Bush didn't lie. Had he lied, do they honestly think that even their great wonder woman Hillary would remain silent? She has remained silent because she knows. She understands, having been in the decision making loop, she knows what information was available and how that information was interpreted. Here is the bottom line (historically) on the issue of whether or not the people were lied to. Back in the 1970s -- when most of these kids were nothing more than a lust filled twinkle in their parent's eye, then Jimmy Carter screwed the pooch. He cut the CIA budget and passed laws making it illegal to have eyes and ears (read agents) in foreign lands. Without the ability to see and keep a thumb on the pulse of a given situation, we had no one with experience (the guys with that experience are all left overs from WW II) to get the credible information necessary to make these calls. Reagan didn't bolster the CIA and correct the damage done, neither did Bush senior and we are all painfully aware of what Bill was doing. Bill was too busy lieing and trying to cover up his own foibles. That's why he had guys like me -- as one person the other night on a different question so eloquently put it, making surgical strikes. I digress. The people who make these hurtful comments have NEVER served nor have they ever known anyone close to them who has served. Their idea of duty is severly lacking. They are mentally exhausted and morally bankrupt.

in my opinion our troops are doing the job that most of us won't do. I do not think that the majority of the people however blame the troops...they are the ones following orders; i think the blame is and should be put onto the white house for their botched planning and their poor information gathering for a war that is looking more and more like Vietnam everyday. Unfortunately people put the blame onto the troops, the ones handling the dirty work when they should be questioning the policy makers of why we are pouring money into a hole while so many other people need U.S aid to fight starvation, disease, and genocide

because they don't understand what it's like overthere , but my older brother is over there right now and from the stories he tells it's the next closest thing to hell. Their going through a lot of hell to do what is asked of them and it makes me pretty mad to see these ignorant people over here wining about" how they are only fighting for oil and how they are doing nothing but harm to the Iraqi's" If they were fighting for oil, it would become obvious to other nations that are over there helping us and you would notice alliances falling fast from it, so thats not the case. They are also trying to help the Iraqi people but it's hard since they get blown up by car bombs every ten seconds.
