ok.. my best guy friend had told me he slept with this girl last winter..well come to find out he didn't..why would he lie to me? I don't won't to lose his friendship..what do I need to do?

He did this to see how you react to the situation. Maybe he wanted to know if you would get jealous, or didn't even care. Guys are always trying to make them look better or worse, depends how you look at it, so they can impress people.

Guys are always lying about where they haven been. He probbly just said it to see how you would react.
