Well.....the "eight tiny reindeer" evolved from an old myth, that St Nicholas had chained and subdued the Devil. Over time, the "Horned Goat", got transformed into a reindeer. Ain't that weird?
Maybe donkeys would have been more appropriate!! lol! :-)

Only dogs are better at pulling sleighs through the snow so the choices are limited. Even though they'd spend a lot of time flying with Santa they'd still have to take off and land in snowy conditions. Our neighbours dog sometimes gets to wear reindeer horns at Winterval and you can't tell the difference between him and a reindeer anyway.

I kind of like the reindeers. Just think ... they'd never have received the exposure and publicity had Santa not chosen them to pull his sleigh.

LOL! There aren't too many nimble critters in the Arctic.
I can't imagine wanting a Caribou on my roof.

Yes. Texas Cockroaches. They don't need magic to fly, they're easy to feed and they're nearly as big as Reindeer.

Cane toads, gotta be cane toads - they could withstand the cold and any other element you threw at them - they're strong buggers too

Hamsters, thousands of them in those balls could pull anything and they are light enough to fly if you stuck bat's wings on them.

how about flying ox. they are stronger and would get less tired although santa does need speed.
