It isn't about the differences necessarily. It's usually more about whether the individuals involved will put the necessary effort into the relationship when those differences causes friction.
So, if you and he both love each other, the question isn't do you not have enough in common, but are you both willing to work hard to make each other happy, even if it as at some personal cost to yourselves?
As for the friends, well, that can be difficult. But sometimes what happens is that couples find other couples to be friends with that are independent of their own circles of friends. And even if that doesn't happen, there's no reason you should be upset that you don't exactly get along with his friends (or let your friends non-liking of your bf upset either you or him). It's your life and his life. Who cares what they think?

I think that you should make the decision on who you date....not your friends. Havent you ever heard the story of Romeo & Juliet?? Dont get me wrong....dont want you to go dying for your love, but dont let your friends talk you out of it because you are a "rocker" and he is a "gino" (whatever that is).
Good luck

Its if you want it to work then it will work. Who is in the relationship, your friends and his friends or you and him. If your friends are really your friends, they will look and see that he makes you happy and that he is good to you. That is what they should be worried about, not what kind of style person he is. If you like him and he likes you, that all that should matter. Don't complicate it into more that it is.

He likes you, but you worry what your friends think. Get your friends to find you a boyfriend.

So do you want to be with him or,are you looking for ways to leave? Your relationship should be based on what YOU & HE wants. Not what your friends think or want. Or his friends.
