You just have to set your priorities. Sounds like you have a pretty full agenda! Maybe watching TV is just your way of unwinding. If it isn't affecting your schoolwork or robbing your sleep time, and especially if you watch educational programs sometimes, a little TV is ok!

You are in deed a busy person!
But you aren't watching TV NOW! So you can manage to avoid it or cut down if you locate an alternative.
On the other hand...is it useless crap that you are watching or is it informative? Either way is could be a stress breaker to watch TV with all the other things you have on your plate.
I didn't notice any spelling errors or slang words and even proper punctuation was used? So you are smart kid, I don't think it is harming your potential or greater expectations.
But..........If YOU feel it is preventing you from pursuing other things (if the TV is in your room) remove it. Hide the remote, remove the batteries. Plan something after school during the time that you normally find that you watch TV most.

Sounds like watching tv is a good way to relax, so you don't get burned out.
I work 2 jobs, then come home to play with the kids, once they are in bed I really enjoy watching tv or using the computer.
If you feel you still need to stop watching tv then pick one show as your favorite, then use the rest of the time to answer questions on yahoo or play games

well let me tell you i have the same problem and im slowly getting better. first thing, if you have a tv in your room get rid of it. and slowly limit your tv watching at a gradual pace [not all at once]. reward yourself with some tv after doing some homework, but only on show. try not to watch repeats of shows, and just watchb it for the sake of watching it. if there are shows you want to watch only watch new episodes, which tend to be on late at night, so get home after basketball, do your homework, eat some dinner, watch your show, and go to bed.
i have followed this system and im getting a lot better from my tv watching time.

I use to watch tv all the time too when I was a teenager. When you grow up, get a job, marriage, bills, etc, watching tv will be a distant memory of your past.

Well....maybe that little bit of television is relaxing for you...just set a schedule for yourself, and don't break it. You have to make yourself stick to the selected hours, and then get on the path to go for all the other things you enjoy doing for yourself..you will be fine...I don't think that you are spending too much time at all. good luck and keep up the good work.

I really dont see that you have a big problem - you are still exercising regularly and you are getting your school work done and that's the main concerns. Remember we all need a little relaxation time through the day - you shouldn't feel guilty.

Turn off the TV and even unplug it. Below is a little test you can take to see how much of a couch potato you really are! CUTE and interesting!

Sounds to me like you are using the TV as a reason to sit down and relax. Maybe your doing too much and need more down time.

I watch TV sometimes just to relax and forget about things for a while. If you want to stop, just pick certain shows you like to watch. When they start into reruns - you won't want to watch anymore.
