Especially if children use it? Shows like Hey Arnold use the word, and I saw a commercial for a family game called "Truth or Crap." Do you consider it a profanity?

i wouldnt consider it profanity, but slang,,,, and i guess it depends the context they are using it in would define it as really bad slang or not,, "oh crap i hit my toe", is different then "i have to take a crap", it does stand for ****,,, like heck stands for hell,,,,,i would discourage my child from using it,

ps: i think right here is a example that people dont take it too seriously, crap and hell didnt get censored, but the 4 letter word starting with a s that crap stands for , did , lol

Not profanity although many words are used nowadays instead of profanity. Raven says "Snap" all the time, "Truth or Crap" (crap is used instead of lie), Arnold uses crap to describe something of no value which could be interrupted as profanity, then again so does Sponge Bob Squarepants.

Christians, and all and sundry, could evaluate the words interior the context they are used. interior the chinesse eating place occasion you present a mandarin (or in different chinesse language) word is being while in comparison with an curse word in english or american english. no longer remember how comparable the two words look or sound they are not the comparable word, in spite of in the event that they sound or are written exactlt they are nevertheless 2 distinctive words. consequently, an american christian shouldn't get indignant if seeing the word at a mandarin / chinesse menu or sign. it extremely is harder interior the "bloody" occasion for the reason it extremely is interior the comparable language, english. right here you are able to still verify the meaning of the word and keep in mind that a word might have extra suitable than one meaning, and meanings might substitute by utilising area or usa. i visit grant you yet another occasion from my important language: Spanish. In maximum spanish talking places "bicho" is a casual word for a sprint malicious program. yet in Puerto Rico, a malicious program is an "insecto" (insect); bicho is a grimy word for penis. Then a christian puertorrican could in the past being indignant while listening to 'bicho" is to verify the place and how the word is used, wherein context. * Is the speaker from Puerto Rico? or from Venezuela or Mexico? * The verbal substitute is approximately ants, bees, flies? or approximately intercourse?

its really what u feel in your heart. do u feel its wrong? u must...or u wouldn't be questioning the use of it. i personally don't think its profanity, because i was raised with very strong profanity. cartoon now days are terrible for children to watch, especially sponge bob and a few others.

it isn't a word that sounds nice coming from a childs mouth. depending on the age and when and where it is said - if they are older and talkign to their friends and saying crap then i probably would just say, "choose another word." but using crap when speaking to an adult is disrespectful and would merit discipline.

The person who invented the flush toilet was named Thomas (I think that was his first name) Crapper. It is not a profanity, although I pity his descendants for what has been done to his name.

I accept it as slang for the word sh**. But you can call it anything you want. If you don't like it tell the children it is unacceptable language.
