I have heard this that question so many times. And hear some really bad answer to it.

Can God make a ship that he can not sink.

tell me if this is not the answer. It makes sence to me. :) am I wrong?

you see there are some things God canot do.
1. Lie
2. be suprised.
3. not know somthing.

So there is your answer. If he said it will not sink then no he cant sink it because he does not lie. so yes he can biuld a ship he can not sink. He would know people would try to sink it because he knows everything, but because he said it wouldent sink then it wouldent sink because he does not lie. And he would not be suprised to see how suprised the look on peoples faces are to see he can biuld a ship he can not sink.
There is always an answer, it is simply God does not lie he is all truth :) please tell me if this makes no sence to you. I'll be happy to explain

This question has been around the block in numerous forms (a Simpsons book offered, "Can God create a hot dog so big that even God couldn't eat it). I forget the name of it, but it is a philosophical idea that is false.

#1. I really don't know why God couldn't lie if he didn't want to (I'm not trying to argue Christianity, simply making a blanket statement about a divine being in general).

#2. I would have a problem with God being able to be surprised if he knows everything. Surprise indicates not knowing something is going to happen. But #3,(I'll put it here) could be if God is not omniscient, that could in theory, be possible. I'll add onto this a question, does God have a sense of humor? The Bible says man was made in God's image, if so then shouldn't God have it? The problem, almost all humor requires the element of surprise, now violated as mentioned above. For example, when Aunt Mary trips over a roller skate and drops a tray full of food. That's funny (except to Aunt Mary) because we don't know it's going to happen (we'll ignore someone who is so upset about it that that overrides the humor involved).

So, to sum it up in the form of your ship question. God could not build a ship that even He couldn't sink even if we was omnipotent. He wouldn't be surprised, if he has foreknowledge of it. The other point might be depending on your theology.

I understand what you're saying. Remember God can do all things. He can make an unsinkable ship that will not sink under any circumstance. If He said I will not sink this ship that I have created then He wouldn't. He can if He wanted but He wouldn't because He gave His word that He wouldn't. God always keeps His word.

The ship will not sink if that is what God says, true, God can not lie.

God cannot do nonsense. God cannot do evil. However, He is still omnipotent. Do not expect the supreme perfect God to do stupid things.

You are thinking correctly, but do not spend your time straining out gnats and gulping camels

yeah it makes sense, but i think it is more of a not constrained by time and space thing and our own inability to not be able to comprehend it.
