Well, try this and you won't feel the same-this is a real winner: Buy a bottle of 151 Bacardi puerto rican rum and mix it with egg nog 50/50. Then add a spoon of Cinnamon powder; add about 6 ounces of coconut milk, shake well and drink. It is one of the most tasty mixed drinks known, and very few people outside of the Caribbean know about this. Enjoy it and share it with friends, you'll be buying egg nog from now on-(sold only during holiday season)....KECK

It's yummy. The calories will destroy any diet, though. I have seen some incredible calorie counts on egg nog. Drink a couple a season, and no more.

LOL I think its ok. I usually only put in half the alcohol that the recipe calls for though. It is more smooth that way. Less caustic...much tastier. You also have to serve it ice cold as well. Nothing worse than warm egg nog.

Well, I like it, so I'll drink your share of that gross ol' stuff for you ;-) Seriously, I like the taste - it's very rich and filling, and when a little brandy is added, it's a very nice relaxing drink. Since I don't get to have it except during the holidays, I suppose that makes it a bit more special. Many folks leave the alcohol out completely; to me, it's rather like a spicy milk-shake that way.

If its made properly its absolutely wonderful. It took me years to even want to try it, i thought the same thing. I worked with a girl and her grandmother makes it every year, OMG it was to die for. I was at work and got a buzz, not good, lol. You dont taste any egg and some recipes dont even call for eggs. Keep an open mind and try a good recipe. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's probably the spice combination. The right spices mixed together.
Personally, I prefer Dreyer's lite eggnog ice cream. Less caloric, and it tastes yummier than 'nog itself.
Kinda like gingerbred,almost.

My GF says the same thing. If you lighten up the texture of Eggnog by pouring some milk along with the eggnog, it feels lighter and doesn't taste as strong, but you can still taste the Cinnamon
