Sometimes it is very hard.
I admit that sometimes I just pack it in and figure being painfully polite is the best I can do. Usually that only happens when my acts and/or expressions of love and acceptance have been rejected. There's only so much I can take.
I don't ever *hate* them, though. I just give up and let them do their thing and I do mine.
edit -- george, you used to call *me* princess. Sniff, sniff... : )

Is it hard to love thy neighbour? -- Yes, very.
Is it worth loving my neighbor? -- Yes, but I can't lie, I curse child molesters, and violent people. Sorry, but I'm not a good Roman Catholic, even after talks with my priest, in the hopes of not cursing anyone. I do pray for all my other neighbors, though, sick, etc. Humans are so aggravating, as you say.

It is not that hard. Some people are good and some are not. Even when they are mean to me, i try not to be mean back, because I don't know what kind of day they might be having or if any thing at home for them is bad, and me being rude would just make it worse.

Well, I don't find it difficult. I treat people how I would like to be treated. I can love just about anyone. Those who commit truly heinous crimes, I find it really difficult to see them in a forgiving way. Those who have truly hurt me....that is hard too. It is worth trying of course. If God can forgive, then I should.

Back in the day, when people would marry their relatives, would often be described by the common 7th grader (when you learn about this) as "ewwww." The truth is, as long as you love somebody, thats all that matters. Although often marrying your family was forced during classical times, if you do love them and they love you back (in a sexual way not as in family love) then you deserve them. You deserve who you love as long as they love you. Nothing should limit you. Dont be afraid of failure when it comes to love

Why would you want to try NOT loving your neighbour? That's not a world I want to live in! It's messed up enough now as it is!

If you find it hard to love your neighbour-
then you do not love yourself.
Learn to love yourself and the love to your neighbour comes with it.
you cannot go the other way around

That would largely depend on my neighbor.
If he's a vulgar, inconsiderate, disruptive person, I would try to keep a respectable distance.
If he's a kind, considerate, caring person, then yes, it would be easy.
