Start to read books about it and start to believe in yourself.
In every Buddhist country they believe in it different
Buddhism is not a religion but a life fiolosify.( sorry for not spelling the word right)
reading is learning so you an make up your own mind about Buddhism. it sounds dull i know, but try it and you will learn a lot about life.

Buddhism goes back a long time and sounds very wise and mature, there are many variations on Buddhism and they all come from the same poin, live and let live.
The problem is that in modern age people treat Buddhism more as a religion than what it really is.

What i can tell is simple

Be yourself

I am not a Buddhist but been married to a woman who is.
Also i am living in Sri Lanka and am a dutcman ( Sri Lanka is very buddism)
good luck and be understanding.

Buddhism is about to know yourself, everything in life has its cause and we don't blame others for what happen to ourself nor blaming ourself, since it's already happened, so be it, no need to find justification. The buddhist teaching can be summed up as stop making the wrong things, start to do good things, and purify your heart and soul.
One advantage of buddhism is, you don't have to be a buddhist to learn buddhism, cause buddhism is more like a way of life. We are not asked to convert people to become buddhist :)
May peace be with you.

It was founded by Sakyamuni Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, ma'am.

It revolves around the principles of non-violence by thought and deed.

"Buddham sharanam gacchami, Dharmam sharanam gacchami, Sangham sharanam gacchami." I submit to Buddha, the Faith and the Order; is their slogan, ma'am.

Hope this helped.

Have a nice day.

We believe in trying to stop our suffering by ending our desire for worldly things. We believe that suffering arises from attachment and that in order to end our suffering we must cut our ties to the material. We also believe in rebirth and Karma. We also have a religious code known as the Noble Eight-fold Path...

The only way to really learn, and understand about the bud dist way is to read books about it, my husband is a Buddha believer, I am catholic, we have butted heads, but he comes to mass with me on special events, and I go to temple with him on special events.

its really kinda neat the way they do things, when we married we had 2 ceremonies, a Buddhist wedding, then an American one., it rocked!
