Nothing illegal with dating a teacher, however, most if not all universities and colleges have a strict policy against faculty fraternizing with students. It has to do with instructors having to uphold an ethical standard by not taking advantage of people using his/her assumed role of authority. It goes along the same lines as bosses not gaining sexual advances from employees and police officers not getting some from girls to get out of tickets. If your friend is middle aged and the professor's age and not enrolled in his/her classes, I think most university policy is that it is okay. That kind of crap is usually printed in a school's catalogue or website and easy to look up.

I'm not sure if it's illegal or not but it does object to the student-teacher relationship rules.

don't think it's illegal.
maybe inapproprite but not illegal.
inapproprite in the way that teachers shouldn't be having romantic relationships with there students
but seeing how he is older guy it doesn't matter he is a grown *** man.
that **** about illegal is for kids that are still in elementary and high school
that is my opinion though
