Very possible, I did.

Like all methods of finding love, sometimes the internet works and sometimes it's a disaster. It worked for my girlfriend & I, but mainly because we weren't actively looking for someone, nor were we hanging out at personals or singles sites. We bumped into one another at a Yahoo discussion group and just sort of fell in love before we knew what we were doing. I moved from California to Texas to be with here and never looked back. It's been two years now and we're happy as a couple of clams at high tide :)

It is very possible. It is how I met my fiance. We were friends first for a few years, then our friendship turned into a relationship. It doesnt happen for everyone. I wasn't even actually looking to find someone. If its something your considering, just be careful. Make sure your friends first. That way you can see how they interact with others, etc etc. Not all people online are their true selves. As long as you pay attention, its easy to spot the people who are fake. Best of luck to ya!

My son did. He and his now wife IM'd and live journaled each other for a year before they met. They were engaged less than a year later and married 6 months after that.
Fast forward 2 1/2 years - they had a baby - and I now have a 7 month old grandson!
I was very skeptical that first year. I kept telling him that "girl" he was "talking to" could be a 57 year old, truck driving pedophile.
Fortunately, she wasn't!

I think it is a real possibility because I know people to whom it has happened -- and maybe it is happening to me, too. But you must always remember that you don't really know the person on the Internet. You know the on line persona but not the whole person. You haven't had to rub elbows with this person. You haven't had opportunities for friction with this person. Also, you may not know the real person at all. You may be meeting a made-up person and not the real one at all.

i think its very possible. and i dont know why everyone is so embarrassed of it. yeah it can be dangerous. you def need to be very careful. but you get to know someone on more of a personal level. i can almost assure you that you will talk about things online that probably would be looked over if meeting a person in person. seems like people get side tracked with getting physical. so go for it, just be careful. :)

You can meet the love of your life anywhere, and you can even fall in love with them just through chatting, but ultimately when you meet that person, it comes down to that moment of chemistry (this isn't about looks). You either have it or you don't.

Me and my live in GF found each other in a chat room, so it was a positive experience for me. But you must be VERY careful to who you chat with and talk to. When you let your heart take control of yourself during an Internet romance, and let your mind take a backseat, you could be asking for trouble.

If you're SMART and CAREFUL and NOT STUPID, then yeah, it's possible. My aunt found her one and only on eHarmony.com and she is happily married and living quite the wonderful life.
Alot of people get online and just start pouring out their life story to strangers. They deserve a smack to the head.
