I heard that if you are robbed or kidnapped and someone forces you to take money out of the atm.. is it true that if you punch in your pin number backwards it allows you to still take money out of the bank but it warns the police that something is wrong and they will come to that location? Is this a myth?

NO!!!

A pin number is case sensitive. You cannot pull out money if you do not type it in correctly.

However, I have heard of something to that affect.
Check with your bank.

Here are some general rules to follow when using an ATM:

Use indoor booths, ie; a grocery store.
Don't use an ATM that is not protected, ie; on a deserted street, no lights.
Do not use an ATM in the middle of the night.
If you absolutely have to go at night, take someone with you that you know you can trust.
Use your body to block other peoples view.

Good Luck!

Never heard of that so it has to be a myth but I think it a good idea or, a seperate code that you can remember to use to call for help silently.

Haven't heard of this one. Surely the backwards pin number wouldn't be accepted. Great idea though

I have never heard of that before. I suspect it's an urban myth.
