Around the year 1638 I believe was when the first pioneers came to Plymouth Rock and shared their ideas and traditions with the Indigenous people. This is Thanksgiving if that's what you're referring to and it's celebrated every year on the 3rd Thursday of November.
However, as far as giving thanks...you can do that on your own any time and any day. I'm sure God won't mind. :)
