I think this site will help you not to care about what others think. But remember, you are giving yourself a chance to live. You might go to their funeral. Lung Cancer or so.

It is a matter of discipline. You should think of the advantages.
There is such a thing as COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease which is like asthma but this is due to smoking. You will feel easy fatigability in short distances & treatment will be inhaled steroids.
However, you can get lung problem through passive smoking, meaning those who arent smoking & inhaled the smoke from smokers. Better get rid of these people.
Ask for brochures or posters of the disadvantages of smoking & show it to your mother. Tell her how you care for her!

Don't do it. Peer pressure can be hard to deal with, especially if this pressure is coming from your mother. Smoking is a nasty habit. And, NO, not everyone in the world smokes (thank the lord). Most people try to make themselves feel better about smoking by coersing you to join them (that's why thy're mean about it). Let them be and find new friends.

Get new friends. Anyone who tries to convince you that it is okay to continue poisoning yourself is no friend. In the US and some other countries, more and more restrictions are being placed on smoking in public, and the Marriott hotel chain is banning smoking anywhere on the premises, including in private rooms.

you want to quit for yourself and your friends who smoke wont understand this because they themselves want to continue smoking.. i dont think you should get new friends just try tellng them that this is something you are going to do and you need them to be a little more considerate about it...
when you do quit there are going to be people smoking around you.. its all about self-control and will power. Good luck!

That totally sux for you! That's exactly what happened to me (except my mom, she's a nurse, and begs me!) DON'T GIVE UP! PLEASE!!! QUIT FOR ME, well, and obviously yourself!!!
Maybe you can just stay away from everybody for a couple of weeks, then, when they complain that you're not around, tell them it was because they were being totally selfish and unsupportive, and you'd be happy to hang with them again when they show you the respect that you deserve!!!!!
Good luck, and Happy Turkey Day!
