Well to go straight to your question. somebody make a damage to your properties, he or she shall have the legal responsibility to your property by paying you or make the repairing to your. You said, what if that means nothing happened yet.

You said your can was hit. yeab, you shall have the reimburse for your damaged car from the car owner. Insurance is the third party who take the responsibility on behalf of the car owner. So, you will get payment for your damaged car any way. Good luck

The other insurance company is technically liable for your damages, whether you are insured or not, if they are found fully responsible for the accident.

If police have already determined that the other party is at fault, you will get a ticket for driving without an insurance, which can be quite severe.

The other side will argue that they can pay you less (or not at all!) since you are indeed guilty, and it looks like you will need a lawyer soon. Your lawyer should be able to get you a proper settlement from the other party, as well as to get you out of the "uninsured driver" charge.

My advise is to get a lawyer, tell him the story with the free initial consultation (most accident lawyers do that), and see what s/he says.

Nope - you can be charged as you are causing an offence by just having your car on the road without insurance - you can end up in a whole heap of trouble. Get yourself insured and NOW. Also imagine if you did cause an accident you would be personally liable for any damages including paying compensation for any injuries or even death -you will lose everything.

I am responding because I am the victim of an uninsured driver in Ontario, Canada.

It is illegal to drive a vehicle that is not properly insured. The law requires your vehicle to be insured with at least the third party liability coverage. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that they are properly insured. If you are stopped by the police, you must produce proof of insurance if requested.
The penalty for driving without insurance is a fine ranging between $5,000 (first time) to $25,000. Your licence could be suspended for up to one year and your car could be impounded for up to three months.

Say you're involved in an accident, and you're legally responsible for the accident. This means you're also legally responsible for the damages. So - the guy who hit me was uninsured, and therefore charged with driving without insurance, thereby incurring a severe financial penalty of $5000. He was also charged with wreckless driving, a $400 fee, and had his vehicle impounded on the spot for 3-months). Not too pleasant.

But he's not off the hook yet. He's still responsible for payments made (my loss of vehicle, income, housekeeping, childcare, medical, rehab, physio and medication, etc). Plus, his driver's licence will be suspended until he has made satisfactory arrangements to repay the amount paid out on my behalf. Each year when he renews his automobile licence plate sticker, he'll need to file a certificate with the Ministry of Transportation (Ontario only) declaring that he has the required minimum amount of automobile insurance coverage.

Now, back to your specific case.....

It is not stated whether a person was/is injured while driving or occupying their own vehicle (or a vehicle leased by them). However, here's the bad news.
Your vehicle is uninsured at the time of an accident (accident occurs in Ontario ???), then you :
·cannot sue the at fault driver.
·are not entitled to income replacement or non-earner benefits under no-fault insurance (or Accident Benefits).

Uninsured car owners cannot sue for damage to their car, loss of income, disability, etc., even when they are not at fault for an accident that occurs in Ontario.

The bottom line is … driving without insurance is irresponsible and could be financially devastating! Be glad that there was no third party injury!

I don't know the specific details of your laws (guessing you live in America). However, the other people's insurance will not cover your car damage. Why do you think you can reap the benefits of insurance if you haven't paid for it? The point of insurance is to protect yourself and others. The other people's insurance does not have to protect you if you're not protected yourself. It will be a costly lesson to learn I imagine.

If it was their fault, their insurance should fix your car. Usually a police officer ask to see each person's proof of insurance and would give you a ticket for no insurance. But, if it their fault, it their fault.
michael s may be correct, I really not know. I just keep insurance as it reasonable without any Traffic Records and they check my records twice a year.

The other people will have to pay to repair your vehicle, but you will get a ticket for not having proof of insurance. Your vehicle should not have been on the road without insurance. Their insurance company may argue that point in court and win based on that fact. They may not pay up.

I'd get insurance, but if this already happened i feel sorry for u cuz its too late
