YES! I was raised in a Christian home and when I was about 14 I decided that God had abandoned me and I started to turn to the Wiccan religion. I have nothing against them (want to make that PERFECTLY CLEAR) however in 2003 when I became preganant with my second child and did not know who the father was nor when it had happened and was faced with also loseing my 1st child, I was distraught... I was 23 at this time. I was lost and felt that the Gods and Goddess I believed in then, and was constantly worshoping, in circle, community and such had decided that I should suffer... As well and accepted that the "Pagan" community is when you are with them, during real trial and tribulation they neglect you... as a whole. When I was 8 months and ready to give in I learned that God did not abandon me, on the contray he waited patiently while I was learning. My second child I gave up for adoption... I regret what the community had sugessted as an answer to my problem.. When she was 3 months old I gave my heart back to Christ and was re-baptized. I do however miss some of the rituals that the Wiccans preform, but I do not long for the mischief and the condoning of mutual Sex they practice. I love being Married in the eyes of the Lord and not being passed from one person to another... Although it is not written in books things do happen and when they do you go along because you feel safe and warm... however, be warned that when things go awry they as a community are not always beside you.
My advice, stay where you are and have Faith that the Lord will walk beside you ALWAYS!

First of all keep in mind that to truly learn about something you should ask someone who really knows something about it...
Honestly, You aren't going to find the honest answers you seek from a Christian.... They aren't Wiccan, so they only know what they chose to believe as outsiders...
Also there are many different ways to practice Wicca....
I recommend that you find a good book to read such as "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham
It is a great book, and you will learn a lot about Wicca and Wiccans...
Don't listen to other Christians who will tell you that even thinking about wicca is a crime, don't be afraid to look into Wicca. the only thing you stand to lose is ignorance. Even if you don't chose to follow the path of Wicca, you will have learned something. That knowledge will help you to understand some of your fellow human beings.... and there is no crime in that!

Okay, having been a Christian who began questioning, practiced Wicca for awhile, and then regretted it greatly, and is now solidly Christian, I am NOT going to tell you not to do it. I am however, going to suggest that you run through a checklist before you do.
1) Be sure that what you don't agree with is actually Christian and Biblical, and not simply a result of a specific denomination's interpretation or practices.
2) Pray about it.
3) Make a list of the things you agree with in Christianity and the things you disagree with. Then, make a list of what you disagree with in Christianity and what you find suspicious or outright disagree with regarding Wicca.
4) Take two more weeks to think about it.
5) Read the Wiccan Rede. Though not all Wiccans ascribe to it, consider this line carefully, and the meaning of the words contained within the usual transcript.
Deosil go by the waxing moon
chanting out ye Baleful tune
Definitions of baneful on the Web:
exceedingly harmful
baleful: deadly or sinister;
6) These decisions should never be made in a hurry. Be absolutely sure that you do not believe in Christ's resurrection before you switch over. Despite what I thought when I was 19, there is no reconciling the pagan gods and Christ.
7) Also trust your intuition and your gut and your body when and if you begin buying tools, and performing rituals. Your hands and arms and gut will know if you are not supposed to be doing this.

1. Depends on which path you take. There are many Goddesses and Gods so it is up to you which path to follow. I honor all the old deities but mainly work with the Nordic and Celtic deities. For learning about the many deities I suggest looking up the mythos of the ancient deities. 2. We don't BELIEVE in demons and neither do witches. Pointy hats are a stereo type from the 1600's to 1700's. Some Wiccan are also witches so there are some who do spells. Chants? Personally I just talk to the deities. 3. The Sabbats and espets are times when we honor and celebrate the changing of the seasons and our deities. 4. We don't follow a book because we live our beliefs. 5. You need to wait until you are 18 before some one will legally be able to take you on as a student. 6. The "Name" is not necessary. I took a name only because I live in the bible belt and when I write or am a part of Pagan rituals etc, I prefer to keep that part of my life from those who might cause me harm. 7. Rules? You should have ethical and moral rules, everyone has to some extent. 8. Your preference for spouse is your business not ours so I would say yes all are welcome. 9. I would suggest doing more reading on the subject. I would start with Scott Cunningham and read everything you can get your hands on. Sort though them carefully since most of those Wiccan who have published are also witches and so most books have heavy spell references. As for sources, I have a life time of experience of research and talking about it to other Wiccan. There are as many paths as there are groups and solitaires who follow the beliefs of Wicca.

Wiccans also believe in God but in a very different way. Instead of praying to God, Wiccans believe that God and Goddess have bestowed power in us that we must invoke. This is why we do spells. It's alot like active prayer. Instead of our God being this all knowing Omnipotent being, God and Goddess are Omnipresent in everything in the Universe.
If you are considering a change of religion, look over the Wiccan Beliefs listed below. If you have any questioins, email me.

It requires devotion and commitment. You can't be "sort of" Wiccan. I'll tell you right now, you MUST be willing to do a lot of research, or you'll never know what you're doing. Read books, go on sites made BY WICCANS AND FOR WICCANS (see my sources), and ask people yo know who are true practitioners. Know that it is NOT Satanic, and we don't even believe in Satan. He is a purely Christian concept of pure evil, and we have no reason to acknowledge something like that. Oh, and you won't be able to turn your ex-boyfriends into frogs or clean your room by wiggling your nose. It is a ditheistic nature-based faith. Make sure you do your research and make an intelligent decision. Good luck and Blessed Be!

I have recently turned from the Christian path to the Wiccan path and I find it to be much more fulfilling. The views are very similar in some ways, and they do still believe in God, but they also believe in a Goddess. The best thing to do is to learn as much as you can about the Wiccan beliefs before you commit yourself completely. Don't let people deter you if you feel drawn to it. Paganism is one of the most ancient religions. If you want to talk about it in more depth or need some support, please email me or go to www.witchvox.com. I think you'll find it very helpful.

One of the most important facts to know about religions in general is they nearly all (if not all) express a belief in a higher power, be it a God or Goddess or multiple deities. There are many myths about Wicca. There are quite a few wannabes out there who do not well understand it, mixing in some erroneous myths.
Contact some real Wiccans. Below are two good links. I find www.religioustolerance.org to be one of the most informative web sites on religion and faith. The second link is a good place to begin looking for some local groups in your area. Good luck!

Bless you for your thirst of knowledge. There is a religion called Christo-Wicca you may be interested in but I found the worship of many deities to conflict a little too much with my own personal beliefs. I am a Christian witch. I chose not to adhere to the standards of the Wiccan Rede as I worship only the Trinity (God the Father, Jesus Christ and The Hole Spirit) but I do practice Witchcraft. A wonderful site I would highly recommend is Rawna Moon's Christian Witchery page:

I am a Christian and I 'd have to say that Wicca is a VERY interesting religion. The best thing for you to do would probably be pray and meditate about where you want to be as far as your spiritual life goes. You might just not want to follow the priests and pastors for a while. They can lead you astray BIG TIME.But be careful, and follow your heart.Deep down, you know whats right.
Good luck!
